What happens to the numerous innovative ideas that come to the mind of car engineers and designers? Some get the opportunity to create a prototype, and many do not. Even when there is such an opportunity, there is no guarantee that the concept cars would go into mass production, and most often, they do not.

Take for example the case of the Lamborghini Estoque. The decision regarding the fate of this first ever four-door sedan from this manufacturer is yet to be finalized, let alone reach the mass production unit. Will it be available for buyers in 2013? There is no official statement yet – only time will tell.

What is so special about this concept? The most important point – it is a four-door sedan, which is a first from the stable of Lamborghini. Next, it combines the best of both – powerful performance and effortless driving. It is quite a stunner when it comes to looks – Estoque is a bull fighting sword – and it sure lives up to its name!

How does it achieve all this? Here is a quick check on its features. The prototype (unveiled at the 2008 Paris Auto Show) featured a 5.2-liter Gallardo V10 engine in the front. Though talks are still on regarding the available options, this one seems to be just right. Moreover, putting it in the front provides enough space for four people and cargo.

If the concept goes to production, it sure is going to get the standard all-wheel drive. However, the structural materials may be a little different from other cars – talk is that a combination of lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber elements would make the blended platform of this machine.

The chief objective of emphasizing on the lightweight aspect is to ensure maximum fuel economy, minimum emissions, and optimum performance. The right combo of edgy, sleek exteriors and cozy, well-appointed interiors is sure to gear up Lamborghini sales if this baby goes to production!

It is a pity for car-enthusiasts that it is yet to be decided whether this amazing vehicle would ever go to production or not. Make sure you keep checking the auto magazines for any further updates.
