There are two ways to get fire damage: your car can sustain damage from cigarette use or from a car accident. These things are what your car suffers from you or someone else in your car. You see it on TV and movies all the time showing you how the fire was caused. It damages the inside and outside of the car to where it costs a lot of money to get replaced.
If you smoke in the car you need to watch what you are doing. A cigarette can fall on the floor and set the carpet on fire, burning right through until there is a big black spot in the carpet. Or it can spread, burning it until you see the metal that was under the floor. You will start to smell a nasty odor from your car, and then you will see smoke. If a cigarette gets on the seats, it will melt it and burn all the way through. If it gets too bad then it will set the whole car on fire, and it will destroy everything inside it. It can burn the paint right off of the car, melting the steering wheel and the gears to where you can't even read them anymore. It can burn all the way into it and you will have nothing left but a big scrap of metal. It will melt the dashboard and anything that is made of plastic.
If you have an accident your gas tank can set on fire and explode your car. But at first, it will catch on fire and burn everything that is under your hood and everything inside, and you only have a few minutes to get away from it before it does explode. When they put it out there will be nothing left but ash and metal, and the whole car will be black. If you get it out fast enough it will not blow up, and you may be able to save whatever is in there. You will still have to get it fixed, but you might still have a car left so you don't have to pay for a new one. In an accident, however, your car might be in a state where it cannot be fixed, and you will have to get a new one whether there was a fire or not.
You need to watch what you are doing so this does not happen to you. You also need to be careful when you smoke in the car. Having an ashtray that has a closeable lid where you can drop your ashes in will be beneficial to get installed in your car.
